Stepping Forward With A New Logotype
CLIENT: Quality Services for the Autism Community (QSAC) is a nonprofit that provides housing and rehabilitation services for individuals on the autism spectrum.
CHALLENGE: QSAC needed a new logotype for their annual Next Steps 5K fundraiser, as the one they had used had too many competing design elements and lacked a clear brand presence.
SOLUTION: First, I drew a mind-map for the Next Steps 5K brand based on key words to describe the event. Next, I sketched some first drafts and narrowed things down bit by bit until I received direction from the team on which design they preferred the most. Finally, I put the logo to color, and we rolled out the brand for all event products.
RESULTS: Despite inclement weather on race day, there was a marked increase in run registrations for 2015—the year of the new logo roll-out—in comparison to the previous year.
