NYC Anti-Violence Project
giving safety tips on hate violence & police brutality
CLIENT: The New York City Anti-Violence Project (AVP) empowers the LGBTQIA community to end all forms of violence through organization and education.
CHALLENGE: AVP needed a redesign of their postcards for Pride 2014 and beyond. Their existing postcards were failing to communicate as much information as hoped due to formatting and type issues.
BIG A-HA! MOMENT: Putting the cards in landscape, as opposed to portrait, freed up lots of real estate. It allowed for both more legible type and more aesthetic value.
SOLUTION: Using a thorough redesign process in conjunction with the Communications Committee and the Director of Communications, I tackled a new design and layout for these cards.
RESULT: The new pride cards were a massive hit. 15,000 cards were distributed en-masse all over Fifth Avenue during both Pride 2014 and Pride 2015.
